What is it about?

This is an article on the significance of the World Englishes paradigm that to me, seems to be a revolutionary linguistic paradigm after years of structural and prescriptive linguistics that used to domineer at schools, I see the reason for an abundance of innovative features in the fact that language and culture, language and community of use started to be studied together.

Why is it important?

Differentiation of Englishes is viewed as underpinned by cultural differences. As soon as language began to be seen @through a cultural curtain" linguistic differences became evident.

Perspectives

This is a flagship publication that brings together research in language and culture, paying tribute to the founders of the WE paradigm.
