What is it about?
SUDS planning authorities are under resourced and so unable to assess SUDS plans properly. The result is that cumulative flooding effects of several developments are not taken into account. This paper prtesents a new method that could overcome these limitations and protect vulnerable people and their properties.

Why is it important?
Climate change has had increasing impact upon flooding in Scotland. Coupled with a rash of new housing and leisure developments, many towns have become more at risk, despite efforts of local authorities to address flooding. This not only affects business and property values, but also communities and their health and welfare, due to displacement whilst repairs take place and the ongoing threat of future floods.
