Why is it important?

A more rigid fixation was achieved by the novel, more distally located lag screw insertion, however the solar canal was more often penetrated with the more distopalmar screw insertion.

Perspectives

Further research is needed to investigate, wheter solar canal penetration by inserted lagscrews hase any clinical significance.
