What is it about?
Mapillary lets users upload street level photos to its service via smartphones or a web application and provides an open Street View like service. The data is a unique addition to previously available Volunteered Geographic Information sources.

Why is it important?
This is the first study to describe Mapillary's data. It also tries to assess different user contribution strategies and data completeness. It also compares completeness to a similar, professional dataset, Google Street View for selected cities around the world.
