Analysis of FMD antibody prevalence in Eritrea. It show an age and region dependent antibody prevalence in Eritrea. With an overall prevalence of 26% - 30%.

Why is it important?
FMD is an very important disease of cloven hoofed animals. Control is possible, but should be monitored. The current study provides a baseline antibody prevalence. When control is implemented this baseline prevalence can be used to evaluate efficacy of the control measures implemented.
Perspectives
This baseline serological prevalence can be the start of FMD eradication in Eritrea
