What is it about?

This study conducted in the northern region of Ghana observes that the nature of politics is responsible for imbalance and inequality between the north and south of Ghana and, not the geograpgical location per se.

Why is it important?

It exposes the effect of political and policy choices of governments on the poverty situation in Ghana. It also places emphasis on the critical role of the politics of poverty reduction policies and inclusive policy strategies.

Perspectives

The study draws government and policymakers attention to the fact that political choices are critical determinants for the success of pro-poor policies in Ghana and developing African countreis.
