What is it about?
The Photocatalytic activity of TiO2 nanoparticles (nano-TiO2) and its hybrid with SiO2 (nano-TiO2-SiO2) for degradation of some organic dyes on cementitious materials under visible and UV lights was studied in this work.

Why is it important?
The use of inorganic precursors in compared to organic precursors because of reducing the cost of synthesis and avoid to using of organic solvents have more justification in environmental issues. also , based on our results, these blocks having better photocatalytic activities can make them accessible to commercialize photocatalysts.
