What is it about?
Some leading animalists have attempted to solve the thinking brain (parts) problem by eliminating brains from the animalist ontology. The aim of this paper is to show that this eliminativist solution does not work because it is incompatible with animalism.

Why is it important?
The thinking brain (parts) problem is one of the main objections to animalism, the view that we persons are animals. It seems that eliminativism about brains is the best solution to the problem in the existing literature. If my argument is correct, animalists should deny eliminativism and find other way to solve the problem.
