What is it about?

Drug resistant bugs can be found in our community. This would make treatment of infectious disease more difficult.

Why is it important?

Previously, drug resistant bugs are predominantly found in hospitals. Now they have spread to the community. If we cannot stop spreading of these organisms, we may need more complicated antibiotics to treat even simple infectious diseases.

Perspectives

We emphasized that drug resistant bugs can be found in the community. The pediatric patients are also affected. This would alert the physicians that even though patients get infections from the community, previously caused by pan-drug susceptible bugs, they may need more complicated antibiotics.
