What is it about?

Looks at different drug regimens for drug induced sleep endoscopy anesthesia. Combination of dexmedetomidine and ketamine were superior to other drug regimens for these procedures.

Why is it important?

In order for a drug-induced sleep endoscopy to be useful, the anesthetic must mimic, to the extent possible, natural sleep. The anesthetic that was safest and most effective was the combination of dexmedetomidine and ketamine.
