What is it about?

The phosphatized microfossil medusozoans at embryonic stage. And the affinity of the studied microfossils can be tentativley tested to close to the stem group of cubozoans based on the phylogenetic analysis. The inner structures of the microfossils can be observed via the Computed X-ray Microtomography (XTM).

Why is it important?

The microfossil medusozoans and its related fossils found from the kuanchuanpu Formation can give a clue on the early evolution and diversification of the ancient cnidarians.
