What is it about?
In this review article, we discuss the regulation of plant nucleotide-binding leucine-rich repeat immune receptor (NLR)-mediated defense responses by the nucleocytoplasmic transport machinery. We highlight cytoplasmic and nuclear functions of NLRs and their signaling partners, and we consider potential implications of NLR activation and resistosome formation in both cellular compartments for mediating plant pathogen resistance and programmed host cell death.
