What is it about?
Cyanobacteria have a huge environmental impact and are regarded as promising for a sustainable production of chemicals and fuels from CO2 in the future. Here we characterized a regulatory protein that controls the synthesis of the key enzyme for CO2 fixation. Accordingly, our data will help to make this process and cyanobacteria amenable for biotechnological applications.
