What is it about?

Reactive oxygen species (ROS) are known to participate in various plant processes. We use ozone as a proxy to create ROS burst to study the earliest signalling events of ROS in Arabidopsis thaliana mesophyll tissue. This shows concomitant increase in membrane potential and cytosolic calcium levels, which starts spreading to neighbouring areas at very high ozone concentration.
