Quantitative assessment of the effects of biochar amendment on photosynthetic carbon assimilation and dynamics in a rice–soil system

What is it about?

Photosynthetic carbon is one of the main sources of soil organic carbon. Biochar can affect the carbon sequestration potential in plant-soil systems. We quantitatively assessed the photosynthetic carbon fate at different rice growing stages in plant-soil systems under biochar amendment based on the 13C isotope trace and found that biochar increased the of photoassimilated carbon content in plant-soil systems.
