What is it about?

The properties of seeds are highly dependent on the temperature they experience during seed set. Here we set out to understand the mechanism by which this occurs. We show that the previous focus of the field on the regulation of DOG1 is in fact an artefact and that instead the strongest effect of temperature occurs through regulation of ABA catabolism during seed maturation.
