What is it about?
At the two extremes of the leaf habit spectrum, deciduous trees lack leaves for a large part of the year, while evergreen trees maintain leaves year-round. We test whether leaf habit influences carbohydrate storage in oak trees. We show that carbohydrates are higher in deciduous oak trees than in related oak trees with other leaf habits.
