What is it about?
How plants maintain growth under non-freezing low (chilling) temperatures is not well understood. Using hypocotyl elongation, we find that heat shock transcription factor HsfA1d is critical for chilling growth. It does so partly through promoting expression of ribosome biogenesis genes which are important for maintaining protein translation.
