What is it about?

In this work we demonstrate, in a Mediterranean citrus orchard, that under mild and intense heatwave conditions, different combinations of changes in stomatal conductance, carbon assimilation, and in photoprotective mechanisms (such as, fluorescence, non-photochemical quenching, and photorespiration) are invoked . This helps to maximize ecosystem resilience during periods when high frequency of heat waves and peak annual productivity overlap.
