Patterns of anthocyanin pigmentation in flowers of </i>Antirrhinum majus</i> are determined by partially overlapping roles of regulatory genes controlling anthocyanin biosynthesis. Additionally patterns are determined by differences between the regulatory proteins in their ability to regulate other genes encoding transcription factors.
