What is it about?
As climate change occurs tropical forests are likely to become drier, leaving trees with reduced access to water. Drought conditions will change the way trees grow and accumulate carbon, however predicting these changes is dependent on understanding what processes within the tree are most likely to limit growth rates. We show how the key plant properties controlling growth rates in tropical forests change between drought and non-drought conditions.
