What is it about?

How and when did the flood pulse disturbances affect the growth and mortality of a long-lived monodominant tree species in the Amazon? In an undisturbed area, changes in tree growth occurred due to the intensification of the hydrological cycle while the mortality was related to the events of La Niña. On the other hand, in an anthropogenically modified area, downstream of a hydroelectric dam, the change in growth and mortality were mainly caused by the permanent alteration of the river's hydrology after the construction of the dam.
