What is it about?
Plants are subject to stress caused by the climate they inhabit. But the effects of climate on plants may depend on their interactions with other organisms, such as competition. Here we show how drought and competition interact to affect plant traits and natural selection. Local variation in competition might help to maintain diversity in drought response within populations.
