What is it about?

The symbiotic interaction between legumes and rhizobia leads to the formation of nodules where the nitrogen gas is reduced into ammonium for plant absorption. However, the initiation and establishment of legume-rhizobia symbiosis involves complicated signal exchanges and transduction in both partners. Induction of Nodule inception (NIN) expression is for initiation of nodule organogenesis in legumes. We show that three transcription factors, NSP2, IPN2 and NSP1 work together to regulate NIN expression and root nodule symbiosis in Louts.
