Osmotic stress inhibits leaf growth of Arabidopsis thaliana by enhancing ARF‐mediated auxin responses

What is it about?

How plants regulate their growth response to osmotic stress is poorly understood. We show that osmotic stress induces a very similar response as the phytohormone auxin in proliferating leaf cells resulting in an inhibition of cell division and thereby the formation of smaller leaves.
