ULTRAPETALA1 maintains Arabidopsis root stem cell niche independently of ARABIDOPSIS TRITHORAX1

What is it about?

The maintenance of the stem cell niches (SCNs) is crucial to understand the control of cell division, cell fate identity and cell differentiation of plant meristems. Here we reported to ULT1, a TrxG factor, as new component required for the root SCN organization. We underscored that the role of ULT1 in the SCN is independent of the ATX1, revealing a different functional relationship between ULT1 and ATX1 depending of the meristem context or the tissue type.
