Nuclear protein phylogenies support the monophyly of the three bryophyte groups (Bryophyta Schimp.)

What is it about?

Plants derive from aquatic green algae and colonised land millions of years ago, but nobody knows for sure how the four major plant groups are related. We show that the first big division within land plants was between non-vascular plants, such as mosses, and vascular plants, such as roses.
