What is it about?

We show that evolutionary turnover is much greater than generally thought—even in an ancient, conservative conifer group—with extinction, adaptive shifts and rediversification playing major roles. Also, we show that integration of the fossil record with DNA analysis is needed for a more accurate understanding of evolutionary history.
