What is it about?
CO2 uptake and losses from plants play a central role in the Earth's carbon cycle, and help determine the rate of future climate change. But these carbon fluxes are also impacted by climate change. We review how leaf carbon dynamics are affected by rising CO2 concentrations and increasing temperatures. We also show that changes in carbon losses from respiration and carbon uptake from photosynthesis due to warming are coupled, indicating that these processes should be studied together.
