Karrikin‐KAI2 signalling provides Arabidopsis seeds with tolerance to abiotic stress and inhibits germination under conditions unfavourable to seedling establishment

What is it about?

The control of seed germination by environmental conditions is a critical for seedling establishment. We show that karrikins which are produced in wildfires stimulate germination of Arabidopsis seeds under favourable conditions. However under conditions of environmental stress, karrikins inhibit germination.
