What is it about?
miRNAs and phasiRNAs are two major types of small RNAs in plants. We discovered in litchi that miRNA-mediated phasiRNA production is coupled with alternative splicing and alternative polyadenylation of noncoding pre-mRNAs to generate distinct phasiRNAs, thereby to regulate more diverse target genes.
