What is it about?
The arborescent lycophytes grew in the water-logged coal-producing swamps during the Carboniferous period, Some species grew to over 40 metres tall before producing terminal cones. We explore how such plants could grow speedily to ensure early spore production and turn-over of plants in the swamp community.
