What is it about?

We use a biochemical tool to easily detect an enzyme activity and specificity which is required for protein break-down. This method allows one the one hand to simply 'scan' the experiment with a scanner to get a read-out of the result and also to 'see' the outcome of the experimetn in the test tube by physical methods live. But on the other hand our results give important insights into molecular mechanisms of protein breakdown which has important functions in life and cellular metabolism.
