Why is it important?
The study needed a large population of patients because of individual variety. The specialized surgery clinic founded by Hirotaro Narabayashi in 1958 provided the precious materials of study gathered for 1995-2000. The time delay from abnormality of brain cells to expression of symptoms implicates the contribution of some memory process as a critical future target of research.
