What is it about?

Rhizobia are valuable for sustainable agriculture and the cycling of nitrogen in the biosphere through symbiotic nitrogen fixation. We show that a specific group of rhizobia contains a unique set of purine transporters which allow assimilation of a range of purines and might be relevant to their symbiotic relationship with their legume hosts.
