What is it about?
Drug resistance to antibiotics is a growing problem. We make an argument that a bacterial channel that serves as an "emergency release valve" for the cell to survive some environmental insults is a viable drug target. Activators of this channel may not only decrease bacterial growth, but also allow passage of additional antibiotics into the bacterial cell.
