What is it about?
Bacteria employ molecular devices to deliver toxins and effectors into target cells so that they can compete with other bacteria or subvert host cells. The activity of these systems can be fine tuned by small molecules called second messenger. Here we showed that such control is very much bacterial species-dependent and adapted to each bacterial lifestyle.
