ZomB is essential for flagellar motor reversals in Shewanella putrefaciens and Vibrio parahaemolyticus

What is it about?

Flagellar motor reversals are crucial for bacterial chemotaxis and navigation during swimming. We identified and characterised a novel protein component, ZomB, which is absolutely crucial for such motor reversals in a range of bacteria and may allow these species to tune chemotaxis efficiency.
