What is it about?

Fungal pathogens cause potentially devastating diseases on crop plants and threaten food security. We are investigating the mechanisms by which fungi exploit host nutrients during disease. In this study, we found that growth on acetate influences fungal virulence via an impact on morphogenesis and mitochondrial function.
