What is it about?
In eukaryotic cells, DNA replication requires four B-family DNA polymerases: Pol α, Pol δ, Pol ε and Pol ζ organized in high-fidelity multi-complex machineries: the replisome. Using physiological assays, we show that the hetero-tetrameric form of Pol ζ (Pol ζ4) is required for defective-replisome-induced mutagenesis – DRIM, when cells are not treated with any external damaging agents.
