What is it about?

Cellulase gene expression in the model cellulolytic fungus Trichoderma reesei is controlled by an intricate regulatory network involving multiple transcription factors. We describe here a new transcriptional repressor Rce1 paritcipating in regulating cellulase gene expression by antagonizing the major transcriptional activator Xyr1 from binding to the promoter.
