What is it about?

The bacterial pathogen Staphylococcus aureus has two DNA pumps, SpoIIIE and FtsK, that act through independent, but redundant, pathways to ensure proper segregation of the chromosomes. Absence of both DNA translocases causes severe nucleoid segregation and morphological defects.
