What is it about?

Dual-function sRNAs are a subgroup of small regulatory RNAs that act on the one hand as base-pairing sRNAs to inhibit or activate target gene expression and on the other hand as peptide-encoding mRNAs. Here, we review in detail five intensively characterized dual-function sRNAs and describe shortly five further RNAs, for which the base-pairing, but not yet the peptide function has been elucidated.
