What is it about?

Members of Rab GTPase family are involved in various stages of phagocytosis. Rab7 subfamily is known to control the late stage of phagocytosis in higher eukaryotes. We demonstrated that the function of EhRab7A is indispensable during the early and late stage of type 1 E. coli phagocytosis in Entamoeba histolytica. The internalization process was found to be actin independent in the parasite.
