What is it about?

Hypoxia is one of the major environmental conditions that the human pathogenic fungi encounters within a host. Sterol regulatory element-binding protein (SREBP) is a key transcriptional regulator of hypoxic responses in fungi. This paper demonstrates that signal peptide peptidase (SppA) is essential for the cleavage of ER-bound SREBP in Aspergillus.
