What is it about?

It's an comprehensive systematic review on all exisiting measurement instruments to be used in education to assess patient-centred communication of medical students, graduate students and doctors.

Why is it important?

Patient-centred communication is proven to enhance health in patients, but also in doctors, thus education of patient-centred communication should be important in medical education. This overview can help in selecting the appropriate assessment tool to be used when teaching patient-centred communication in the medical curriculum. We assessed them on psychometric properties and offer suggestions on the use of such instruments.

Perspectives

Writing this article was an adventure as it was so comprehensive and gave me the opportunity to collaborate with a lot of people. This article was the start of my journey as a PhD-student and let me grow as a researcher! I hope this article wil inspire you to improve your communication training and assessment.
