This is a companion paper to the previously published feline work showing that SDMA is elevated earlier than creatinine in naturally occurring kidney disease.

Why is it important?
Knowledge of declining kidney function allows early intervention. In other published work, we have shown that renal function decline as shown by SDMA analysis can be stopped through dietary intervention.
