What is it about?

This article argues that part of the reason for the success of Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight film trilogy is due in part to the establishment of Batman as a hyper masculine, clearly heterosexual force. Also, this article ascribes part of the failure for the Joel Schumacher Batman films to that director's insistence on a queered Batman universe, one that played off of an ambiguous sexuality that audiences ultimately rejected.
