What is it about?

Kangaroo Mother Care is the most cost effective way to provide warmth and care to newborns. This can be used in low birth weight babies to help gain weight. KMC for twins can be difficult initially but it is essentially the same. Challenges and their solutions to KMC in twins are covered in this paper.

Why is it important?

This paper highlights the ways Kangaroo Mother Care can be used in twins. The challenges of implementing Kmc at institution level and family level are dealt with in this paper along with feasible solutions.

Perspectives

This paper is first of its kind. To develop cost effective solutions and use existing resources to improve the practice of kangaroo mother care in hospital was a great learning experience and with the huge case load in hospital, this was an opportunity to reach out to many parents.
