Why is it important?

The importance of this work lies in the fact that it provides details of an approach for hazardous waste production in for-profit outpatient haemodialysis centres. It also makes health professionals aware of improving their healthcare implication in sustainability and in respecting the natural environment since haemodialysis is a healthcare activity that stands out for generating hazardous waste and for employing substantial natural resources.

Perspectives

MD, MBA, a Family and Community Medicine Specialist. For 17 years, I have devoted my professional life to hospital management in for-profit and government hospitals. I have had the opportunity to implement environmental management systems in dialysis units.
